OPEN INVESTIGATION® is an 8 part narrative podcast based on the HBO Emmy Award winning documentary, “Have You Seen Andy?“, the true story of a childhood friend’s search for answers to the disappearance of her 11 year old friend, Andy Puglisi who vanished from Lawrence, MA in 1976. The podcast picks up where the documentary left off. Director Melanie Perkins realizes by searching for her childhood friend she has opened a Pandora’s box revealing dozens of other unsolved missing & murdered children whose cases may be related to Andy’s. The podcast follows an investigation over nearly 25 years as cases are reopened, links to the clergy abuse crisis are revealed and organized human trafficking of children in the 1970s is documented. Through on location interviews, archival news coverage, police reports and court records the listener is able to grasp the enormity of the story and the contemporary problems that still exist in missing, unidentified, and murdered children’s cases.
